Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Culbertson was held Wednesday at Deer Creek Lutheran Church by the Rev. Walter Carlson with burial in the First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar. Casket bearers were Olaf Anderson, Meryl Brewer, George Davis, Leonard Larson, Lynn Gordon and Curtis Taylor.

Mrs.Carrie Thon Culbertson was born September 2, 1870 at St. Ansgar to Iver and Ingeborg Thon. Early in childhoood her family moved to a farm near Bolan, where they lived for several years.

Carrie was baptized in the Lutheran Church St. Ansgar and confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Northwood. During most of her life she was an active member of Deer Creek Lutheran Church and a life member of the ALCW.

In September of 1892 she was united in marriage to Frank Culbertson and spent all of her married life in and around Carpenter. To this union four children were born, Floyd of Waverly, Irvin of Clinton, Noris of Carpenter, and Mayme Parrott of Waverly.

Mrs. Culbertson departed this life Saturday evening May 11 at the Parlets Lutheran Home in Waverly having reached the age of 92 years, 8 months and 9 days.

She is survived by her four children, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and sister, Mrs. Anne Colbertson of Northwood. She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and two sisters.
