Laurina Augusta Emma Steinberg Perau, 89, of Osage, Iowa, died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002, at the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar, Iowa.
She was born Nov. 17, 1912, in Rock Township, to Emil and Selma (Wilde) Steinberg. She was baptized at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Rock Township on Dec. 15, 1912, and confessed her faith in Confirmation on May 29, 1927.
On Nov. 15, 1936, she married Orlan Perau at Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar. They lived on a farm southwest of Osage and had two children.
Laurina enjoyed gardening, flowers, family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include daughter, Margaret (Paul) Hegland, Osage, Iowa; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Edwin (Maxine) Steinberg, St. Ansgar, Iowa; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orlan, in 1988; daughter, Marlys.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, at the funeral home and Saturday at the church for one hour before the service.
Service: 1:30 p.m., Saturday, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage, Iowa with the Rev. Christian F. Gugel officiating.
Interment: Osage Cemetery.
Funeral Home: Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, Iowa.
