Phyllis Drake

#1:

Phyllis Julia Ann Drake (Kuhn), 87, was received into the Lord's care with family at her side on Christmas Day, 2009 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Service and interment of ashes will be at The National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl National Cemetery) at 2 p.m. on January 8, 2010. Arrangements made by Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to American Martyrs Retreat House, 2209 North Union Road, Cedar Falls, Iowa. Or to the Charity of your choice.

Phyllis was the daughter of the late Sylvester Lawrence and Elizabeth Erwin Kuhn (Sullivan). She was a graduate of Osage Community High School (Iowa) and attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City, Iowa before working as a Secretary for the U. S. Air Force Personnel Office at the Pentagon during World War II.

She loved and cared for her family during their many tours of duty on the Mainland, Japan and Germany in their Military career. Phyllis was born in Osage, Iowa and lived in Hawaii since her husband's retirement from the U.S.Army in 1962.

She will be remembered for her many years of gracious hospitality in making family and friends always feel welcome in their home.

She was a long time devoted member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Honolulu. Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Phyllis left us with a great deal of dignity and grace.

Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, Great Aunt, Cousin, Godmother and Friend of many. She will be sorely missed by all.
