Alice Dieterichs
Alice Dieterichs, 69, of Osage, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 14, 1995 at Maple Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral services were held Thursday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church with the Reverend Dennis Hanson officiating. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery.
Alice Dieterichs was born October 3, 1905 in Newburg Township to Edmund Rosenberg and Hedwig (Priem) Rosenberg. She attended rural schools.
Alice married Walter Dieterichs on October 16, 1927 at her parents' home in Rock Township. In 1934 Walter and Alice purchased the East End Grocery which they operated until 1955 when they started a motel on the same site.
Walter died in 1960 and Alice continued to operate the motel until she retired in 1980.
She is survived by one daughter, Marjory Penney and husband Merle of Osage; one son, Larry Dieterichs and wife Roma of Waverly; two sisters, Josephine Ruechel, St. Ansgar, and Rosalyn Trudeau, Mason City; three grandchildren, Dawn Dieterichs Greenlee, Kristy Dieterichs and Mark Penney; three great grandchildren, Kent and Scott Penney and Randon Greenlee.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters, Laura marcks, Edna Runge and Louise Everts; three brothers, Herbert, Eddie and George Rosenberg.
