Elsie Dieterich

OSAGE – Elsie Dieterich, 95, of Osage, died Friday (December 11, 1998) at the Faith Lutheran Home, Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 14, 1998, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, south of Osage in East Cedar Township, with the Reverend Chris F. Gugel officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Champion Funeral Home, Osage, and one hour before services on Monday at the church.

Elsie Dieterich was born October 5, 1903, in St. Ansgar, the daughter of Albert and Helena (Erdmann) Hollatz.

Elsie was baptized November 6, 1903, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, in Rock Township, Mitchell County and confirmed on May 25, 1919, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar.

Elsie married Alvin Dieterich on June 3, 1935, at St. John’s Lutheran Chruch in East Cedar Township, Mitchell County. Two children were born to this union, a daughter, Dorothy Troge, who passed away in 1977, and a daughter, Bernice Muller, who passed away in 1986. Elsie and Alvin farmed near Rudd. Alvin passed away in 1957.

Those surviving Elsie include, two granddaughters, Kristine Muller Cassel, of Mason City and Janet Muller Boll and her husband, Joe, of Toledo; a brother, Ortwin Hollatz, of Osage; and two sons-in-law, Loren Muller, of Osage and Gene Troge, of Osage.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Alvin in 1957; two daughters, Dorothy and Bernice; four brothers, Laurence Hollatz, Arthur Hollatz, Oscar Hollatz and Earl Hollatz; and four sisters, Esther Haupt, Leona Thorson, Edna Muller and Laura Muller.
