Joseph Schultz

Joseph Schultz, age 87, of Osage, died Sunday, December 13, 2009, at North Memorial Residential Hospice in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Osage. Visitation is from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a scripture wake service at 7:00 p.m.

He was born March 5, 1922, in Cross Village, Michigan, the son of Frank and Anna (Swiss) Schultz. Joe was united in marriage to Ruth Fleenor on September 29, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois. In 1948, they moved to Osage. He farmed and was employed at White Farm in Charles City. Joe was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing cribbage.

Joe is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Joe) Nanti of Mounds View, Minnesota, Judy (Rick) Edgcumbe of New Brighton, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Melissa Nanti, David Nanti, Chris Edgcumbe, and Andy Edgcumbe; a great-grandson, Zachary Nanti; four sisters-in-law, Wanda Schultz, Chesterfield, Michigan, Mary Schultz, Chicago, Illinois, Mary Belle Horgen, Osage, Iowa, Betty (Roger) Moore, Elgin, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth Schultz in 2007; five brothers, Lewis Walter, Leo, Ed, and Mike; two sisters, Sophie Schultz and Dorothy Dzedzie.
