JEAN M. SCHWAB

OSAGE - Jean M. Schwab, 80, died Friday (Oct. 6, 2000) at Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with the Rev. Philip Recker officiating. Interment will be in St. Ansgar Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, 702 State St., Osage, with a 3 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. scripture service.

Jean was born July 16, 1920, in Cody, Wyoming, the daughter of James T. and Gertrude Adams. In 1938 she graduated from high school in Sheridan, Wyoming.

Jean moved to Fairbanks, Alaska, to attend college and there she met Adolph Schwab. They were married on December 10, 1940, in Fairbanks. They moved to Osage and then to Chicago. Jean moved back to Osage in December of 1942 when Adolph entered military service.

In 1951 they moved to a farm northeast of St. Ansgar. She worked as a secretary at Mallow's Pontiac car dealership in Osage and later as a nurses aide at the St. Ansgar Nursing Home. They continued to live on the farm until 1992, when they moved to Osage.

Jean was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Sacred Heart Ladies Guild. She enjoyed her family, bowling, baking and cooking.

She is survived by her husband, Adolph of Osage; three sons, David and his wife, Kathleen, of Camas, Wash., Joseph and his wife, Marilyn, of Nora Springs, and Robert and his wife, Audrey, of North Kingston, R. I.; two daughters, Patricia Rodemaker and her husband, Dale, of Osage, and Sandra Heimer and her husband, Tom, of Osage; a brother, Frank Adams and his wife, Ruby, of Henderson, Nev.; 21 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers.
