Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 21, 1988 at Our Saviors’s Lutheran Church, Osage, for Ruth Johnson, 90 of Osage. The Reverend Joseph Nesheim and the Reverend Dennis Hanson officiated and burial was in Newburg Township Cemetery near Carpenter.

Mrs. Johnson died Saturday, June 18, 1988 at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage of natural causes.

She was born November 11, 1897 at Bertram to Charles and Frances (Boxwell) Parker and moved with her parents as a child to Mitchell County and attended school at Carpenter.

On March 2, 1918 she was married to Clarence Johnson in Worth County. They farmed in the Carpenter, Orchard and Osage areas until moving to Osage in 1962.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence; one daughter; two infant children; four sisters; and two granddaughters.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. LaVern (Eleanor) Schallock of Floyd, Mrs. Lowell (Margaret) Olsen of Osage, Mrs. Norman (Mildred) Sponheim of Nora Springs, Mrs. Al (Carol) McLaughlin of Belmond, and Mrs. James (Sharon) Boyce of St. Paul, Minnesota; six sons, Dale, Charles, Harley, Ivan, and Kenneth, all of Osage, and Keigh of Fort Dodge; 53 grandchildren and 75 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Harold Parker of California.
