Lawrence Boettcher

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 18, 1988 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton, for Lawrence Boettcher, 89, of Grafton. The Reverend Gregory Bjornstad officiated and burial was in the Grafton Cemetery. Mr. Boettcher died Thursday, June 16, 1988 at North Iowa Medical Center, Mason City, of natural causes.

He was born March 15, 1899 in Floyd County to Albert and Emma (Kroneman) Bottcher. He moved with his family to Worth County and attended rural schools.

He married Matie Rieck at Grafton on April 2, 1923. They farmed in Worth County until 1943 when they moved into Grafton.

He was an insurance agent for St. Ansgar Mutual Insurance Co. for many years. He also owned and operated the Standard gas station in Grafton for many years.

His parents; and his three brothers preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Matie of Grafton; one daughter, Mrs. George (Luella) Pagel of Grafton; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Harvey of St. Ansgar and Harold of Lexington, Nebraska.
