Elaine Ruth Pike, 79, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at her daughter's home in Brownsdale.
She was born July 9, 1922, to Walter and Helena (Diedrich) Wilde, on the family farm in Mitchell County, Iowa.
She married Lawrence Leonard Pike October 7, 1945, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Township. She was also baptized and confirmed at St. John's. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, Iowa.
Survivors include a son, Wayne Pike and his wife, Rhonda, Sparta, Wisconsin; two daughters, Linda Unverzagt and her husband, Edward, Brownsdale; Helen Pike, Austin; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence; one sister, Lois Beyer; two brothers, LaVerne and Roland.
Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2001, at First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar with the Rev. Robert Porisch officiating.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. today at First Lutheran Church with Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar in charge of arrangements.
Interment: First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Elaine Ruth Pike, 79, died Saturday, August 11, 2001, at her daughter's home in Brownsdale, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday At First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Robert Porisch officiating. Burial will be in First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church. Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar is in charge of arrangements.
Elaine Ruth Wilde was born on July 9, 1922, to Walter and Helena (Diedrich) Wilde on the family farm in Mitchell County.
She was married on October 7, 1945, to Lawrence Leonard Pike at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Township. She was also baptized and confirmed at St. John's. Three children were born to Elaine and Lawrence, Linda Faye, Helen Marie and Wayne Erwin.
Elaine was a member of First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar. She had just attended the June meeting of her circle where her niece Jane served. She was taken there by her daughter Helen, and when she returned to her home in Brownsdale, she made the statement that she felt like a "Queen for the Day." She was planning on returning for her circle's Due Day in October.
Elaine was a housewife and mother, working only from her home doing daycare and sewing. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother, always thinking of others before herself and always treating people equally. Elaine enjoyed her grandchildren and great -grandchildren. Family was very important to her as well as her friends.
Elaine is survived by one son, Wayne and his wife, Rhonda, of Sparta, Wisconsin; two daughters, Linda Unverzagt and her husband, Edward, of Brownsdale, Minnesota, and Helen Pike of Austin, Minnesota; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, Nichole and Tyler Mundy and their children, Tyler, Alex and Miranda Lynch and Breanna Mundy, Andria Unverzagt and daughter, Rylie Ehmke, Jonathan Pike, Erika Pike and Joshua Pike; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Lois Beyer; and two brothers, LaVerne and Roland.
