BURHITE, GEORGE, PIKE, ROBERTS, POLSDORFER, DEVARY TANGEN

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 28, 1990 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Mason City, for George B. Burhite, 76, of 320 York Ave., Mason City. The Rev. Robert Dodge of Rockwell United Methodist officiating and burial will be in First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar. He died March 25, 1990 at Rockwell Community Nursing Home, Rockwell.

Mr. Burhite was born February 8, 1914 in New Rome, WI to Benjamin C. and Gertrude (George) Burhite. He attended schools in Plainfield, WI and farmed in the area for a number of years.

He married Gladys E. Pike on December 7, 1918 at Austin, MN. They lived in Osage, Little Cedar, Stacyvile, and Riceville areas where they farmed. In 1955 they moved to Mason City. He was employed there by Jacob E. Decker and Son until his retirement in 1975.

He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Mason City.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife in 1988 and one brother.

Survivors include three daughters; Mrs. Vern (Phyllis) Roberts of Rudd, Mrs. Duane A. (Joan) Polsdorfer of Rockwell, and Mrs. Duane G. (Barbara) DeVary of Mason City, 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, one brother, Gerald W. Burhite of Nora Springs, and one sister, Mrs. Carl (Evelyn) Tangen of Escondido, CA.
