Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 18, 1998 at the First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, for Truman Odell Ask, age 92, of Osage. Rev. Robert Porisch officiated and burial was in the First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar. He died Saturday, August 15, 1998 at the Faith Home in Osage. Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Truman was born on January 16, 1906 in Osage, Iowa the son of Bernhard W. and Marie B. (Rossum) Ask. He married Olga C. Nelson on May 21, 1929. They farmed in the St. Ansgar and Osage area moving to the family farm in 1944 and farmed there until retirement and remained living on the family farm. After the death of Olga, his wife, Truman's health caused him to move to the Faith Home in Osage.

Truman was a member of the First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, where he served as a deacon and on the board of trustees.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Olga; one sister, Myrtle; and three grandchildren.

Those that survive him include his two daughters, Karleen A. Jackson and her husband, Jim, of Balsam Lake, WI, Mary Ellen House and her husband, Neil, of Pearl Harbor, FL; one son, Wesley O. Ask and his wife, Linda, of Zimmerman, MN: 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; one brother, Manvil Ask and his wife, Dorcas of Osage; many nieces and nephews.
