OSAGE, IOWA - John P. Kloberdanz, 86, of Osage passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at his home in Osage.

John was born Sept 13, 1923, in Osage to John and Rose (Lauer) Kloberdanz and lived his entire life in Osage. While serving during World War II, John was combat wounded. After serving his country, he married Cassie Marley and they celebrated 64 years of marriage. John was a rural mail carrier for over 35 years.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with the Rev. John Moser officiating. Inurnment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Thursday, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a rosary at 4:30 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Hospice of North Iowa, 232 Second St. S.E., Mason City, IA 50401

John is survived by survived by his wife, Cassie of Osage; their five sons and four daughters, Ed (Star Ann) of Shenandoah, Sue (Den) Bray of Austin, Minn., Mark (Nan) of West Des Moines, Don (Linda) of Waverly, Jean (Ray) Stockdale of Warrensburg, Mo., Tom (Karen) of Rochester, Minn., Dan (Debi) of Cresco, Sally (Dale) Jenkins of Des Moines, Elaine (Steve) Kuttenkuler of Kirksville, Mo.; 24 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are two sisters in Osage, Katie Arickx and Leona Niddrie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; three sisters; and his beloved grandson, Michael Thomas.
