Funeral services for Mrs. Gunia Ask, 73, who died at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital in Osage, Wednesday, July 9, 1959 were held at the Our Savior's Lutheran church in Osage with the Rev. Obert S. Hoven officiating.
Sarah Gunia Nubson, daughter of Christopher and Marith Nubson, was born in Cedar township, Mitchell county, October 24, 1885. She was baptized and confirmed in the Rock Lutheran church in Meroa where she spent her childhood and youth.
A number of years of her life were spent in Duluth, Minnesota where she held a position with the Board of Education. On May 5, 1926, she was united in marriage to Rudolph Ask of Rock township. One son, Stanley, was born to this union. Her husband died August 7, 1932. Since leaving the farm in 1953, Mrs. Ask had made her home in Osage. She had enjoyed good health until the past few months when she was hospitalized in Mason City and later at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital. She died Wednesday evening, July 29 at the age of 73 years, nine months and five days.
Mrs. Ask is survived by her son, Stanley, three grandchildren, Janice, Wayne and Pamela; also two sisters, Mrs. Carl Field and Alma Nubson, and a host of relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, three sisters, Mrs. L.H. Norby, Mrs. Harold Fosholt, and Lena Nubson, and two brothers, Nels and Alfred.
Vocal solosits at the funeral were Orray Knutson of St. Ansgar who sang "The Lord's Prayer" and Marvin Moe of Austin who sang, "What a Friend We Have in Jesus."
Interment was in the First Luthern cemetery with Rev. Hoven in charge of the committal services.
