Roger Earl Stohr

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 19, 1997 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, for Roger Earl Stohr, 68, of St. Ansgar. Reverend Edward Schmidt officiated and burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Schreder and Sites Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. He died August 16, 1997.

Roger Earl Stohr was born December 6, 1928 to William R. and Luella McNamara Stohr at Nora Springs, Iowa. He was baptized at the St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Nora Springs, by Reverend A. F. Wlstner. He was confirmed on April 2, 1944 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Charles City, Iowa by Pastor Walter Fritschel. He graduated from Charles City High School and Voc. Tech. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Roger was a tool and die maker at the Oliver-White Farm plant in Charles City, retiring after 33 years.

Roger Stohr and Sharon Marcks were married on may 29, 1971 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, by Pastor N.E. Betke. He worked for Rosel Plumbing and Heating in St. Ansgar. He also helped with Immanuel Lutheran Church tape ministry.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and one brother, Richard.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon of St. Ansgar; three brothers, William and wife, Dorothy of Nashua, Iowa, Glenn and wife, Margaret Stohr of Charles City and Curtis and wife, Miako Stohr of Novada, California; and a sister-in-law, Irene Stohr and nephews and nieces.
