Orvin Knutson Funeral Held Monday, October 21

Funeral services for Orvin S. Knutson, 72, who died at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar October 18, 1974, were held on October 21 at the First Lutheran Church with the Reverend Stephen Engelstad officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mona with Rev. Engelstad in charge of committal services.

Mr. Knutson was born on a farm near Lyle, Mower county, Minnesota, on January 12, 1902, the son of Knut O. and Gertrude (Nordness) Knutson. He was baptized and confirmed at the Mona Lutheran Church by the Reverend A. Elmer Moe. He grew to manhood in Mitchell County and worked at various jobs after serving the U. S. Army during World War II. He is a member of First Lutheran Church.

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Gustav (Sena) Leraaen of St. Ansgar, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Knutson was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mrs. Ina Bowers and Mrs. Bessie Schulze.

Military honors were conducted by color guard and firing squad of the Walter T. Enneberg Post 358 of the American Legion.
