Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 26, 1988 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage, for Mabel "Mae" Rennier, 88, of Orchard. She died Friday, July 22, 1988 at Faith Home, Osage, of natural causes. Burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery, rural Alta Vista.

She was born Sept. 13, 1899 in Alta Vista, the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Mowen) Smith. She was educated in rural Chickasaw County Country schools.

On November 21, 1921 she married Anthony "Andy" Rennier at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in rural Alta Vista. They farmed in the Floyd area until 1939 when they moved to Floyd.

She was a member of Floyd Happy Hour Club and worked in the grocery store and cafe in Floyd until 1963 when she moved to Orchard.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1963; by one son; and by four sisters.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Hilbert (Collette) Rogers of Orchard; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
