Margaret Eckford

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 23, 1988 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage, For Margaret Eckford, 84, longtime resident of Osage. The Reverend Leon Connolly officiated and burial was in the Osage Cemetery, Osage. She died Saturday, February 20, 1988 at a Rochester, Minnesota hospital.

Mrs. Eckford was born August 27, 1903 the daughter of Eugene and Katherine (Nie) Bloes in Iona, Minnesota. She moved with her parents to Osage and attended Osage schools.

On Feburary 18, 1936 he married Glen Eckford in Mason City. They made their home in Osage.

She was a member of the Osage Women’s Club, Osage Naturalist Club, Osage Senior Citizens and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen in 1970; a brother, John Bloes; and a grandson, Jack Garnes**.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Paul (Sally) Younker and Mrs. Glen (Erma) Adams both of Osage, Glenda Leslie of Rockton, Illinois, and Mrs. Rex (Marian) Garnes of Denver, Colorado; one sister, Mrs. Mary M. Sloggett of Inglewood, California; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
