Francis Heffron
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 14, 1988 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage, for Francis Heffron, 66, of Osage. The Reverend Leon Connolly and Reverend Justin Kane officiated and burial was in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Military rites were conducted by American Legion Post 278 of Osage.
Mr. Heffron died Wednesday, May 11, 1988 at his home.
He was born April 21, 1922 at Charles City to Warren and Veda (Bassett) Heffron. He attended Floyc County schools and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
On March 27, 1946, he was married to Irene Voyek at Charles City. They moved to Osage.
He was a Mitchell County Deputy Sheriff during the late 1950s. Following that he was a bulk oil dealer for Continental Oil Co., Osage, for many years.
For the past three and one-half years he was a jailer at the Mitchell County Sheriff’s office.
His parents; two brothers; and two sisters preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Irene of Osage; one daughter, Susan Heffron of Osage; and two sons, Frank of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Larry of Osage.
