OSAGE, IOWA — Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:30 p. m. at the Champion funeral home here and 3 at the Rock Creek church near Meroa for Thorvald Fosholdt, 69, who died Sunday in Mercy hospital at Mason City; was born in Rockwell township, Floyd county, on a farm near Rudd.
His life's occupation was farming. For the last two years he had been ill of a heart ailment; he recently spent two weeks at a Rochester hospital, and Wednesday night suffered a heart attack at the home of his nephew, Ira Nelson in Osage. Friday evening he was taken to Mercy hospital.
He leaves three brothers: Gabe Fosholdt, Long Beach, California; Harold, Osage, and John, Rudd; four sisters: Mrs. O. C. Christiansen, Osage; Mrs. Mary Nelson; and Misses Elizabeth and Isabelle Fosholdt, Long Beach, California.

Thorvald Syversen Fosholdt was born April 3, 1882 at Rock Grove, Floyd, Iowa to Syver Johnsen Fosholdt and Johanna Haraldsdatter Grov, the fifth of their eight children. He was baptized April 23, 1882 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. His baptismal sponsors were: Jens Johannesen; Bernt Larsen and wife; and Johanne Gulbrandsdatter. He was confirmed at RCLC on June 13, 1897. He never married, nor had children. He was a farmer. He died June 10, 1951 at Mason City, Cerro Gordo, Iowa and is buried at the RCLC Cemetery, Meroa, Iowa.
