Funeral services for Ernest C. Nelson, 72, who died May 28 at Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea, were held may 31 at the First Lutheran Church in albert lea with the Rev. James W. Schoeld officiating.
Ernest C. Nelson was born July 3, 1905, in Mitchell County, son of Fred and Carrie Nelson. He grew up in the Lyle area and moved to Albert Lea in 1932.
He married Bernette C. Nelson in November 21, 1928, in Lyle. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, and was a sales distributor for Colonial Roofing & Refining and T. K. Products, Inc., in Albert Lea. Mr. Nelson was also a member of the Sons of Norway.
He is survived by his wife, Bernette, of Albert Lea; two sons, Erling Nelson, Mason City, and Gary S. Nelson, of Hastings, Minnesota; one daughter, Mrs. William R. (Cleo) Christensen of Austin; 8 grandchildren; one brother, Vernon E. Of Conger, MN; one sister, Mrs. Harlis (Grace) Anderson, of North St. Paul.
Preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers.
Burial was in the Mona Lutheran Cemetery, with Rev. Schoeld in charge of committal services.
