Funeral services for Ervin W. Schulze, 81, who died at his home in Toeterville Thursday, July 20, were held Tuesday July 25 at St. Peter Lutheran church, Toeterville, with the Rev. David Ide officiating.
Ervin William Schulze, son of George and Elizabeth (Decker) Schulze was born June 21, 1897 in Mower County, Minn.
He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran in Toeterville by the Rev. Langrebe. Mr. Schulze attended school in rural Mower county and in Mitchell County and was a graduate of the Austin Business College.
January 24, 1924 he married Martha Hofland. They observed their 50th wedding anniversary in 1974.
They lived in Toeterville where he was employed as a bulk gasolene truck driver. He then began farming and continued to farm until his retirement in 1968.
He was an active member of St. Peter church and held several offices in his church. He was also an officer on the Stacyville Creamery Board for over 20 years.
Surviving are his wife, Martha; one son, Eugene of Toeterville; one daughter, Mrs. Don (Arlene) Anderson of St. Ansgar; two grandchildren, Steven Anderson of Winterset; and Mrs. Marlin (Connie) Rosenberg of St. Ansgar; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Westrem of Toeterville and Mrs. Clarence (Rena) Ruehlow of Mason City.
