Mathilda Kittleson Funeral Held at First Lutheran Church

Funeral services for Mrs. Mathilda Kittleson, 89, who died Wednesday, October 7, 1964 were held Friday, October 9 at the First Lutheran Church with the Reverend Donald Comnick officiating.

Mathilda Tonetta Kittleson was born November 19, 1874 on a farm east of Mona, in Otranto Township. Her parents were Ole and Ingeborg (Hauge) Knutson. She was the youngest of a family of three boys and four girls, who with her parents, preceded her in death. She was baptized and confirmed at the Mona Lutheran Church, and received her education at the Drown School.

July 15, 1894 she was united in marriage with George Kittleson of St. Ansgar, and has resided here since. Eight children were born to this union: Mrs. Della Larson of St. Ansgar, Clayton, who died July of 1959, Glenn of Lake Crystal, Minnesota, Irving of Davenport, Sherwin and Alton of St. Ansgar and Mrs. Violet Hildreth of Austin, Minnesota.

Her husband died February 28, 1932 after which she lived with her son, Alton until August 1952 when she went to live with her daughter, Mrs. Della Larson. On December 8, 1963 she was taken to the Petersen Nursing Home.

Mrs. Kittleson enjoyed good health until the last 14 years. She died at the age of 89 years, 10 months and 27 days.

She is survived by her six children, eight grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Burial was in the First Lutheran Cemetery with Reverend Comnick in charge of the committal services.
