SUDDEN DEATH OF MRS. A. T. TOLLEFSON

Mrs. A. T. Tollefson died very suddenly at their home in the west part of town shortly after one o'clock last Friday afternoon. Mrs. Tollefson has not been in good health for a number of years but has been able to be around.

About two weeks before she had a sick spell for a few days in which she was troubled with severe headaches, but she got better and got around again and for several days had been feeling fine. The afternoon of her death Mr. Tollefson went out of the house to pound a sofa and was out of the house about fifteen minutes and when he returned he found her lying on the floor, dead. A physician was called and he stated that she had been dead quite a little while so it is evident that she died almost immediately after Mr. Tollefson left the house. It appeared that she had started to carry a pan of water across the floor and had felt it coming on and had just sunken to the floor.

Mrs. Tollefson was about seventy-four years of age and was the last one of a large family. The funeral was held at the First Lutheran Church on Monday and was conducted by Rev. Waldeland. Obituary will appear in next week's paper.

OBITUARY OF MRS. A. T. TOLLEFSON

Mrs. A. T. Tollefson, the last of the Mikkel and Groe Rust families and one of the oldest settlers of Mitchell County, died at her home in St. Ansgar, Iowa, on Friday, October 29th, 1920.

The maiden name of the deceased was Liv Rust. She was born at Rock Prairie, Wisconsin, September 22nd, 1846, and was baptized by Rev. C. L. Clausen.

In 1853, with her parents, she moved to St. Ansgar, Iowa, with the Clausen colony.

She was confirmed on June 29th, 1862, by Rev. C. L. Clausen, and her girlhood days were spent on the Mikkel Rust homestead one mile north of town.

On December 28th, 1870, she was united in marriage to A. T. Tollefson. To this union four children were born, Carl T. Tollefson, M. Geo. Tollefson, Annie H. Halvorson, all of St. Ansgar, Iowa, and Alfred L. Tollefson who in 1916 preceded his mother in death.

Her health had not been of the best the last eighteen years but with her enduring patience she carried her heavy cross. Her end came suddenly and yet she was prepared when the summons came, and she always had the word of God before her in which she found her only comfort. Her favorite hymn was No. 547 in Langstad's hymn book.

Besides her husband and children, she leaves ten grandchildren and other relatives and numerous friends to mourn her loss.

The deceased was a kind, affectionate mother and a faithful wife, whose only thought was the welfare of her loved ones.

Sov i frad du kjacre moder,

Hvil nu ud, fra dagens strid,

Nu du nyder himlens goder,

Skuer Jesu aasyn blid,

Tungt det ar at skiller her,

Sorg og savn hos os er naer,

Hjemmet er san tomt og ode,

Gud lad os i himlen mode.
