O. Thorson Funeral Rites Held Saturday

Funeral services were held for Ole E. Thorson, age 71, from the First Lutheran Church at 2:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon, with the Reverend Olaf Langehough officiating.

Ole E. Thorson, son of Erick and Raghnild Thorson, was born on a farm in Newburg Township, April 25, 1867, where he spent his entire life.

Death came Thursday, October 20, 1938 at the age of 71 years. He was baptized by the Reverend C. L. Clausen and confirmed by the Reverend J. Olson on November 6, 1881 and has been a life long member of the First Lutheran Church.

On January 4, 1889, he was united in marriage to Amelia Moe of St. Ansgar. To this union nine children were born, all of whom survive. They are; Roy of Wadena, Minnesota, Clifford, Leon, Donald and Annis of St. Ansgar; Mildred Tesch of St. Ansgar; Alma of Northwood; Hubert and Rose at home. In addition to his nine children he is survived by his wife, 16 grandchildren, a half sister, Mrs. R. Jensen of LaCrosse, Wisconsin and a host of other relatives and friends.

Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery**.

** Note: Evergreen is also known as First Lutheran Cemetery in St. Ansgar.
