Obituary of Mrs. T. M. Tollefson

Mrs. Aase Tollefson, wife of Mr. T. M. Tollefson, was born December 4th, 1841 at Jefferson Prairie, Rock County, Wisconsin.

She lived with her parents, Jens and Bergit Gilbertson, till the spring of 1861, when they moved to St. Ansgar, Iowa.

On December 29, 1865 she was married to Mr. T. M. Tollefson. Their marriage was blessed with eight children. One of these died at the age of two months. Lauritz died July, 1907 at the age of 26 years. The other six children survive their mother. Their names are: John M. Tollefson, George B. Tollefson, Martin A. Tollefson, Mrs. C. J. Halling, Mrs. H. Donhowe, and Henry Tollefson.

All of these, as well as Mr. Tollefson himself, were fortunate enough to be at her bedside when she passed away and were present at the funeral. Six of her eight grandchildren were also present at the funeral.

Mrs. Tollefson had been ailing for some time. She was sick abed for about two months. She died very quietly, seemingly free from pain, on October 15, [1910] after having professed firm faith in the Saviour whom she awaited to take her home.

The funeral was held at the U.N.L. Church, Reverend M. E. Waldeland officiating, and the remains were laid to rest at the U.N.L Cemetery north of St. Ansgar.
