Harold E. Steinberg Funeral Held Here Wednesday, July 17

Funeral services for Harold E. Steinberg, 64, of St. Ansgar, who died July 15, 1974 at Park Hospital in Mason City, were held July 17 at the First Lutheran Church here with the Reverend S. Engelstad officiating.

Harold Emil Steinberg was born July 25, 1909 in Newburg Township, the son of William F. and Mary T. (Beyer) Steinberg. He was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rock Township August 22, 1909 by the Reverend G. A. Bishoff, and confirmed there April 13, 1924 by the Reverend I. Gemaehlich. He attended rural school at Newburg No. 6.

Harold Steinberg and Lois Danforth of Little Cedar were married October 8, 1937. They made their home on the farm where he was born and grew up. Three children were born to them. After 34 years of farming the Steinbergs retired to St. Ansgar in April 1971. In 1972 he retired as an employee of the St. Ansgar Community School District after 26 years. He was employed at First Lutheran Church at the time of his death.

Mr. Steinberg was an active member of his church and community.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; three children, Mark of Marshalltown; Gene of Hubbard; and Marcia of Mason City; also his mother, Mrs. Mary Steinberg and a brother, Elmer, both of St. Ansgar; four nieces and four nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, William; a brother, Lawrence.

Burial was in the St. Ansgar Cemetery with Reverend Engelstad in charge of the committal services.
