Selma Kittleson Funeral Held First Lutheran

Funeral services for Mrs. Selma Kittleson, 78, who died Saturday, April 14, 1979 were held Wednesday, April 18 at the First Lutheran Church here with the Reverend Stephen Engelstad officiating.

Selma Marie Kittleson (nee Beyer) was born September 8, 1900 to Albert W. Beyer and Martha (Lemke) Beyer in Newburg Township, Mitchell County.

She was baptized and confirmed in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rock Township. She attended school in Newburg Township.

December 30, 1923 she married Clayton Kittleson at St. John’s Lutheran Church. They lived in St. Ansgar for several years, then moving to Rock Falls, Illinois, where she lived until her husband’s death in 1958. In 1959 she moved back to St. Ansgar where she resided until her death. Mrs Kittleson was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four brothers, George, Joseph, August and William, and one sister, Ruth.

She is survived by two brothers, Julius of Osage and Albert of St. Ansgar; four sisters, Ida Teal of Osage; Hilda Stonehocker, St. Petersburg, Florida; Hedwig Bork of Grafton and Layina Hannam of St. Ansgar.

Burial was in the St. Ansgar Cemetery with Reverend Engelstad in charge of committal services.
