Orphie (nee Stromley) Kohlman
Orphie (Stromley) Kohlman, 80, of Zapata, Texas, died on February 2, 1997 at her home.
Mrs. Kohlman was born January 26, 1917 at a farm near Mona, Iowa, the daughter to Henry and Irene (Larson) Stromley. She attended Mona grade school and graduated from Osage High School in 1934.
She married Lawrence Erdmann on March 10, 1937. They lived in Breckenridge, Colorado for many years where she worked as a chef in a restaurant.
In 1958, she married Loren Kohlman. They worked for some years as a trucking team in heavy transport. After retirement, they moved to Zapata, Texas.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Bowser of Brighton, Colorado and three sons, Neil of Breckenridge, Colorado, Larry of Green River, Wyoming and Richard of Brighton, Colorado; three granddaughters and five grandsons. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Dean (Hazel) Lewis of Fairmont, Minnesota; and one brother, Sylvan Stromley of Lyle, Minnesota.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Loren, and her parents; one brother, Orven of St. Ansgar, Iowa.
