FLOYD SIMPSON
OSAGE, IOWA — Floyd Simpson, 72, died Saturday from cancer in a hospital at Ponca City, Oklahoma.
Funeral Tuesday at 10 A.M.. at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Ponca City; burial in cemetery there.
Born June 8, 1872, in Bullitt County, Kentucky, where he spent his boyhood and came to Osage as a young man. He married Susan Carolyn Schmidt, and the couple lived in Illinois for some time, coming later to Osae, where they lived for about 30 years.
Following his retirement from farming he was employed as carpenter, which work he followed in Ponca City
He leaves his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Elmer Troge and Mrs. Merlyn Brewer, all of Ponca City; a son, William, Worthington, Minnesota; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A daughter, Verna, was killed in an automobile accident when the couple lived in Osage.
