Harvey Emil August Boettcher
Funeral service for Harvey Emil August Boettcher, 94 of St. Ansgar, were held Saturday, January 17, 2004 at the First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with Reverend Robert Porisch officiating. Burial was in St. John’s Cemetery, Rock Township. Harvey died on January 14, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar, Iowa.
Harvey was born on May 3, 1909 to Albert and Emma (Kroneman) Boettcher in Union Township Worth County, Iowa. He was baptized on May 23, 1909 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton with Henrietta Kruger, Emil Kroneman and August Volkman as sponsors. He was confirmed on April 13, 1934 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton. He attended school in Grafton. In his early years he was a member of the men’s quartet who sang in the Grafton area.
Harvey married Irene [Irma Ella] Rosenberg on October 19, 1939 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rock Township. They farmed in the Grafton and St. Ansgar area until retiring to St. Ansgar in 1977. He enjoyed farming and also bowling. He most enjoyed when he was with his Ford tractor, entering many tractor pulling contests. He entered the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar on March 3, 1999 and continued to enjoy flowers and plants in his room. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar.
Harvey is survived by two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; special niece, Luella Pagel of Grafton and many other nieces and nephews.
Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, Iowa was in charge of arrangements.
