Harold Bublitz

Funeral services for Harold Bublitz, 73, of rural St. Ansgar, who died Thursday, April 2, 1987 at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, were held Monday, April 6, 1987, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton, with the Reverend James Fladland officiating.

Mr. Bublitz was born August 6, 1913 in Newburg Township in Mitchell County, Iowa, to Leo and Lydia (Krueger) Bublitz. He attended school in the Carpenter area and married Lucille Wahl November 12, 1936 at Grafton.

They lived in the Carpenter and Grafton areas where they farmed. Mr. Bublitz was well known for his love of wildlife and established the Evergreen Game Farm back in the middle 1950’s where he brought and traded exotic birds and animals.

Mr. Bublitz was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and a member of several wildlife organizations.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille of rural St. Ansgar; a daughter, Mrs. Kermit (Elaine) Huebner of Grafton; four sons, Darrell of Austin, Minnesota, Dale and Dean, both of Grafton, and David of St. Ansgar; 18 grandchildren; three sisters, Lilly Kirchgatter of Osage, Mrs. Kenneth (Dorothy) Zuehl of Toeterville, and Mrs. Walter (Lucille) Mitsch of Bakersfield, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two sisters and two grandchildren.

Burial was in the Grafton Cemetery.

NOTE: According to the Soc. Sec. Death Index, Lucille Mitsch died 19 DEC 1989, and she was born 8 SEP 1919.
