Betty Jean Deal, (nee Heaps)
ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Betty Jean Deal, 64, of St. Ansgar, died Wednesday, June 21, 1995, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Robert Lemmermann officiating. Burial will be in Newburg Cemetery, Carpenter. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar.
Betty Jean Deal was born September 9, 1930, in Boone, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband, Virl Deal Sr. of St. Ansgar; three daughters, Marie Juenger of Carpenter, Lorraine Beland of St. Ansgar, and Nancy Short of Des Moines; one son, Virl Jr. of Carpenter; two sisters, Agnes Conard and Ruth Ann Merrill, both of Boone; one brother, Melvin Heaps Sr. of Davenport; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons and one brother.

According to the service folder, the casket bearers were: Donnie Juenger, Joe Beland, Mel Heaps Jr., B.J. Deal, Jason Short, and Dick Hansell.
Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
