#2:NOTES:
According to St. Ansgar City Cemetery listing, she was born on February 6, 1899, and died December 9, 1936. It also said her maiden name was Dains, not Payne. (I Don't know which is correct.)

#3:Dorothy Louise Burroughs
Dorothy Louise Burroughs, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Burroughs, was born June 21, 1899, at the farm home northeast of St. Ansgar and passed away there on Wednesday, December 9, at the age of 37 years.
Her early school years were spent at the Spring Valley school, after which she attended high school at Osage, where she was graduated with the class of 1917.
After five years of teaching in rural schools, she entered the Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, for a two-year course in primary education. Following her graduation in 1924 she taught two years at Hartland, Minnesota, three years at Fonda, Iowa, and five years at Estherville. Her ill health caused her to give up her work, and her remaining years were spent at her home.
She was a member of the M.E. Church, which she joined while at Cedar Falls and transferred here by letter. She always enjoyed working in the Sunday School, both as teacher and organist.
Left to mourn her passing, besides her parents, are her brother, Henry W. Payne, and wife, and nephew, Burl Payne; an uncle, H. W. Rowland; aunts, Mrs. Cora Lang, of St. Ansgar, and Mrs. Ida Moody, of Osage; and many other relatives.
Funeral services were held at the St. Ansgar M.E. Church on Saturday, with the Rev. H. Allshouse officiating. Interment was in the St. Ansgar cemetery.

#4:Dorothy Burroughs, was the daughter of Frank W. Burroughs and Phoebe (nee Rowland) Burroughs. I’m guessing the (Dains) alongside her name in the cemetery listing was actually Payne but that wasn’t her maiden name anyway.
She never married. I see her birth date in the cemetery is wrong too. Cemetery record says February 6, 1899 when it was actually June 21, 1899. (this June 1899 agrees with the 1900 Census and the birth record below).
Her mother was married twice, first to Welcome Payne, who died in 1897; and secondly to Frank Burroughs. Her mother is listed in Saint Ansgar as Phoebe (Payne) Burroughs, but she’s actually Phoebe (Rowland) Payne Burroughs.
