OSAGE, IOWA -- Laurence Mauser, 59, died of a heart attack while in the bathtub at his home here on Thursday night. He was found by his wife when she returned from a party about 10:30. Funeral services are pending at the Champion Funeral Home.
Born near LaPorte City, Iowa, in 1902, he was the son of Elizabeth and G. S.** Mauser. He was married to Esther Merkel of Grafton. They bought a farm near Osage where they have lived ever since.
Surviving are his wife; his mother, of Osage; three daughters: Mrs. Richard (Lucille) Newell, Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Glen (Dorothy) Krogstad, Osage, Mrs. Austin (Phyllis) Brandt, LaPorte City; eight grandchildren; three brothers: Robert, Riceville, Glen and Dean, Osage; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Edna) Bailey, Osage, and Mrs. Bentley (Helen) Halverson, McIntire.

NOTES:He was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Christine Mauser, in 1936.
** It is believed that his name was G. F. (Gottlieb Friederich) Mauser, not G. S. Mauser.
