OSAGE, IOWA -- James Elmer Snyder died suddenly of a heart attack Saturday while seeding oats at his farm in Union township.

He had seeded one load and was in the wagon box when he fell over. The horses stopped and remained until a neighbor who saw Snyder fall, arrived.

He was born in Illinois and came to Orchard, Iowa when he was a young boy. His marriage to Henrietta Haberkorn occurred there about 18 years ago. She survives.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Champion Funeral Home here.
