#3: NOTES

[Obituary information and photos, from various sources including Austin Daily Herald, May 4, 1953]

He was born "Amos Bell."

Amos died May 2, 1953. He was actually buried at Liberty Cemetery at Little Cedar. He was a resident of St. Ansgar, and died of a heart attack.

His first wife's given name was Ivy (or Ivie). Ivy was born July 1, 1890 and died Mar. 6, 1990.

Amos changed his surname from Bell to Cole when he married his 2nd wife, whose surname was Voogd.
She was Lillian. Perhaps her maiden name was Wigham. Then again, since his cemetery record says his last name was BELL, perhaps he remained legally a BELL, but went by COLE while living.

A Lillian Cole was found in SSDI:
"LILLIAN COLE" B: 06 Mar 1900 d: Aug 1972, RES: 55912 (Austin, Mower, MN ) SSN: 481-28-3147 issued in Iowa.
