OSAGE, IOWA - Donald C. Adams, age 76, of Osage died Friday (June 5, 2009) at Mitchell County Regional Health Center Hospice Unit in Osage.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with the Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Osage, with military honors conducted by the Osage VFW Post 7920 and the Osage American Legion Post 278.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage where there will be a Scripture service at 7 p.m.

Donald was born June 14, 1932, in Stacyville, the son of Reinhart and Margaret (Hemann) Adams. Donald served in the Army during the Korean conflict.

On Sept. 17, 1955, Donald was united in marriage to Darlene Anderson at Stacyville. He farmed with his brother "Pickle" and worked for White Farm for 43 years. In his retirement, he helped his son at Adams Plumbing and Heating. Donald was a member of the Osage VFW Post 7920, the Osage American Legion Post 278, and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, gardening and wood working.

Donald is survived by his wife, Darlene Adams, of Osage; three sons, Brian (Jan) Adams of Osage, and their children, Roxanne (Rick) Peoples and their children, Karleena and Eric, Kristi (Doug) Feldmann and their children, Liberty and Vinton, Jason (Stacey) Adams and their children, Isabella and Lily, Chad (Jen) Adams, Marty Adams and his fianc�e, Karla Hutchins, of New Born, Ga., and his children, Jamie and Nicole Adams, Terry (Tonya) Adams of Osage and their children, Madison and Cole Adams; two sisters, Ruth Mayer of Stacyville and Beverly "Dudy" Weber of Stacyville; three brothers, Marv (Bev) Adams of Stacyville, Dean (Veronica) Adams of Stacyville and Glen "Pickle" (Irma) Adams of Osage.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Scott.
