Funeral services were held Saturday, August 13, 1988 at Champion Funeral Home, Osage, for Ruth Schwenneker, 94, of Osage. The Reverend Keith Hejnal, pastor of United Church of Christ in Osage officiated. Burial was in Osage Cemetery. She died Wednesday, August 10, 1988 at Maple Manor Nursing Home in Osage of natural causes.

Mrs. Schwenneker was born September 24, 1893 at Audubon, the daughter of William and Nettie Cochran. She grew up in the Anita area, attended schools there and later taught school in Anita.

She married George Schwenneker in Anita and they operated movie theaters in Anita, Guthrie Center and Osage until retiring.

She was a member of the P.E.O., Eastern Star and the United Congregational Church, Osage.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George, who died in 1970; five brothers and a sister.

Survivors include a son, Lynn of Burbank, California.
