HALBACH, HEMANN, MUELLER

Funeral services were held on Friday, August 12, 1988, at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, Iowa, for Leo P. Halbach, 64, of Austin, Minnesota. He died at the Adams Health Care Center in Adams, Minnesota, of natural causes. Rev. J. Conway and Rev. Carl Manternach officiated. Burial was in Visitation Cemetery, Stacyville.

Mr. Halbach was born on February 29, 1924, in Stacyville, to Ernest and Veronica (Hemann) Halbach. He attended Visitation School in Stacyville, graduating in 1942.

On June 7, 1947 he married Maxine Mueller at Sacred Heart Church in Meyer. The couple lived in Austin and Lyle, Minnesota area for 33 years.

He graduated from Austin Vo-tech School in 1973. He was also a licensed ham radio operator. Mr. Halback worked for Hormel for 35 years.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine, of Austin; five daughters: Myrna Halbach of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, Rita Halback of Center City, Minnesota, Elizabeth and Laura Halbach both of Lakeville, Minnesota, and Marie of Bloomington, Minnesota; eight sons: Donald of New London, Kevin and Lawrence both of Minneapolis, Patrick of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, Michael of Plymouth, Minnesota, Ernest of Lyle, Minnesota, Peter of Devil's Lake, North Dakota, and Paul of St. Ansgar; 17 grandchildren; a sister, Sister Edith Halbach of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and two brothers, Jerome of Stacyville and William of Grundy Center.
