Creston A. Wells, 73 of St. Ansgar, died Saturday, August 5, 1989 at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee, Ohio of natural causes.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, (today) at the United Methodist Church in St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Gary Gonnerman officiating. Burial will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery, with military rites by the Walter T. Enneberg Post No. 358, American Legion.
Mr. Wells was born August 12, 1915, at Holloway, Minnesota, a son of Horace G. and Sibyl (Armstrong) Wells. He attended school in the Hansel district in Minnesota. He worked as an electrician in the Hampton, Riceville and St. Ansgar areas
On August 7, 1939, he was married to Doris Harding at the Methodist Church parsonage in St. Ansgar. They were living in Cedar Falls when he entered the U.S. Air Force. They moved to Riceville in 1943, and in 1951 to St. Ansgar. He was self-employed as an electrician in both Riceville and St. Ansgar. He worked at the Rural Electric Cooperative in St. Ansgar for 20 years, retiring in 1973.
He was a member of the Musicians Union Local No. 220, American Legion, Midwest Electrical Inspectors and United Methodist Church of St. Ansgar.
His hobbies included music, woodworking, inventing and designing.
Survivors include his wife, Doris, St. Ansgar; one son, Philip, St. Ansgar; two sisters, Eleanor Tamm, Clarksville and Mrs. Carl (Alice) Sidinger, Phoenix, Arizona; three brothers, Stanley Wells, Fairfield Bay, AR, Father Bill Wells, Estes Park, Colorado, and Donald Wells, Holland, Ohio and one grandchild, Melinda.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Sandra, one granddaughter, Jodi Kay, two brothers, Howard and Harold, and one sister, Helen.
