Clara Larson
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, October 25, 1988 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Osage, for Clara Larson, 99, of Osage. The Reverend Joseph Nesheim and Reverend Dennis Hanson officiated and burial was in the Osage Cemetery. She died Saturday, October 22, 1988 at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar of natural causes.
Mrs. Larson was born January 26, 1889 at Winnetoon, NB to Andrew and Annie Bagstad. She moved with her family to a farm near Lyle, Minnesota a the age of 13. She attended school at Lyle and Mona. During her teenage years, she received training in dressmaking. She did sewing for many Lyle residents.
On February 26, 1908 she married Henry Larson at Lyle. They lived at various times in Deadwood, South Dakota, Dickey, North Dakota, Lyle, Minnesota and finally in Osage.
Mr. Larson died in 1944. She worked as a cook at the Main Street Café in Osage for 30 years.
She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Osage, and was active in the church circle.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son; and three sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Vida Hovelson of Clear Lake and Mrs. Melvin (Helen) Potter of Phoenix, AZ; one son, Lynn “Bud” of Osage; 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
