Harold Luecke officiated and burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mona, Iowa. She died on Sunday, October 2, 1988 at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, Osage, Iowa.

She was born October 10, 1909 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, the daughter of Ernest and Sadie Luense. She lived in Marion and Grafton, Iowa, and Lyle, Minnesota.

On June 24, 1950, she was united in marriage to Orville J. Mortenssen in Lyle, Minnesota. She was a retired U.S. Postal clerk. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband of Lyle, Jack Finnegan of Gainesville, Florida, and Don Finnegan of Red Wing, Minnesota; and Rose E. Luense of Mason City, Iowa; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

[Mitchell County Press, Oct. 12, 1988]

**NOTE: It is believed that the obituary was wrong on the spelling of her surname, as both her SSDI and her husband's SSDI entry (See below) show it with one "s", not two.
