MAN DIES IN
CONSTRUCTION
ACCIDENTMAZEPPPA, MINN. (AP) -- An Iowa man was killed Tuesday in a construction accident here, according to Dr. Paul Belau, the Olmsted County Coroner.
Greg Alan Johnson, 19, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, was killed after construction equipment with which he was working contacted high-voltage power lines. Belau, coroner in Nearby Rochester, where Johnson was taken, said the electrocution is being ruled an accidental death.
Another construction worker was injured in the accident, but Wabasha County sheriff's deputies investigating the accident refused to release his name Tuesday, as did hospital officials in Rochester. The accident was reported at 7:44 a.m.
Johnson and the other man were working on the new waste water treatment plant. The Wabasha County Sheriff's Department refused to say which construction company the men were with.
