He was married on November 19, 1936 to Eleanor Frieda Elise Bublitz. After retirement they spent winters in Arkansas, and summers in St. Ansgar, and did a lot of traveling in their mobile home with their son H. Allen and Virginia.

Their children include: Henry Allen, Jr. and Virginia Boerjan of St. Ansgar, Iowa; Larry Eugene and Lola Boerjan of St. Ansgar, Iowa; Jerry Lee and Gaila Boerjan of Elma, Ark.; LaVonne Marie Severson of Mountainburg, Ark.; Yvonne Marie and Ivan Woods of St. Ansgar, Iowa.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 214, 1986 at Immanual Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar, for Henry B. Boerjan, 71, of St. Ansgar. Mr. Boerjan died Wednesday, May 21, 1986 at his home. The Rev. Norman Betke officiated and burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in St. Ansgar.

He was born on June 16, 1914 at Plymouth, Iowa, the son of August and Mary (Baker) Boerjan. On November 19, 1936, he married Eleanor Bublitz.

Mr. Boerjan farmed in the Mitchell, Osage and St. Ansgar areas.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor of St. Ansgar; two daughters, Mrs. Verlin (LaVonne) Severson of Mountainburg, Arkansas, and Mrs. Ivan (Yvonne) Woods of St. Ansgar; three sons: H. Allen and Larry, both of St. Ansgar, and Jerry of Mountainburg, Arkansas; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ida Taets of Osage and Minnie Heitlant of Clarion; and three brothers: George, Ben and John, all of St. Ansgar.
