Barney Feldt's greatest joy came from singing in the Forte Milers Barbershop Chorus.

Funeral services for Wilmer (Barney) Feldt, 72, were held Monday, April 13, 1992 at First Lutheran Church here with the Rev. Robert Porisch officiating. Burial was in First Lutheran Cemetery.

Wilmer George Feldt, son of Gustave and Alma (Schmidt) Feldt, was born December 18, 1919 on a farm in Newburg Township, Mitchell County. He was baptized February 22, 1920 by Rev. J. Landdeck at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Grafton. His sponsors were George Glassel and Carl Feldt. He was confirmed March 25, 1934 by the Rev. C. J. Kumpf at the same church. His formal education was received at Carpenter High School and he graduated in 1938.

Mr. Feldt married Delores Thorson November 15, 1942 at the First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Olaf A. Langehough officiating. They lived on their farm until 1967 when they moved to St. Ansgar. Mr. Feldt was active in church and community affairs. He served on church boards and the Carpenter School Board. His greatest enjoyment came from singing barbershop music.

He had been a member of the Forte Milers Barbershop Chorus for 30 years. He was a member of a quartet during most of those years. The most recent quartet was the Easy Going Four. They provided entertainment at many events. He enjoyed traveling and he and his wife had taken several lengthy trips. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, golfing and working crossword puzzles.

Mr. Feldt was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Helen.

He is survived by his wife, Delores of St. Ansgar; two sons, Darwin and his wife Cindy of Omaha, Nebraska and Curtis and wife Nancy of Manchester, and two daughters, Diane and husband Vernon Jurgemeyer of Klemme and Janice and husband Gary Chase of Phoenix, Arizona; seven grandchildren; Ryan Feldt, Omaha; Jason and Justin Feldt, Manchester, Raquel and Karla Jurgemeyer, Klemme, Jessica and Heather Chase, Phoenix; two sisters, Agnes Severson, Carpenter, and Irene Thompson, Austin, Minnesota; two brothers, Herbert, Carpenter, and Arnold, St. Ansgar, many nieces and nephews.
