LeRoy Miller, age 87, of Mason City, Iowa, and formerly of St. Ansgar, Mitchell county, Iowa, passed away on February 20, 1995.
Samuel LeRoy Miller was born on August 25, 1907 at Elgin, Fayette County, Iowa, to Thomas Jacob Miller and Leona Learn. Thomas was born in Wisconsin about 1872, and Leona was born about 1878.
In 1930 the family lived at Afton, Howard county, Iowa. At that time LeRoy was 22 years of age, his brother, Ralph, was 18, and his sister, Dorothy was 21.
He was married to Myrtle Esther Meda Kroneman at St. John's Lutheran Church in Rock Township, Mitchell county, Iowa on April 21, 1940, by Pastor was F.C. Ide. At the time of marriage his residence was Manly, Iowa. This union produced four children: Marlys Jean, Janice Marie, Ronald Lee, and Darlene Kay.
For 25 years LeRoy and Myrtle owned and operated Miller's Food Store in downtown St. Ansgar. He and his wife had been a members of First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar for over 50 years.
He is survived by three daughters: Marlys Nelson and her husband Richard, Janice Anunson and her husband Duane, and Darlene Behr and her husband, Delane, and one son, Ronald Miller and his wife Darla.
