Alvera Loretta (nee Nelson) Hansen, age 61, of Otranto Township, Mitchell County, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 1966.
She was born on October 10, 1904, in Lyle, Mower county, Minnesota, to Meds and Jenny Nelson, and lived in Otranto township, Mitchell county, Iowa. She went to school in Mona.
On May 26, 1934 she was married to Thorvald Viggo Hansen, at the Nelson farm, west and north of Mona. Three children were born to them: Clarice, Eunice and Larry.
She is survived by by her husband, Thorvald; two daughters, Mrs. Roger (Clarice) Miller of Bellevue, Nebraska; Mrs. Dean (Eunice) Johnson of Lyle, Minnesota; and a son, Larry, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Esther Jorgenson of Lyle, and Mrs. Myrtle Nelson of Rochester, Minnesota; and a brother, Kenneth Nelson of Rose Creek, Minnesota.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 27, 1966, at First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, Iowa; with Rev. Don Comnick officiating. Interment was in First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar.
Schroeder and Houg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
