Beverly Jean Griga
Beverly Jean Griga, age 68, of St. Ansgar, died Monday April 6, 2009 at Hospice of North Iowa, at Mitchell County Hospital in Osage after a short illness. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 10:30 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar with Rev. Dr. Byron Northwick officiating. Burial will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00-7:00 PM at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar.
Beverly Jean Wolff was born on August 28, 1940 in Iowa City, the daughter of Ted and Ruth (Hobbs) Wolff. She attended St. Ansgar High School.
Bev was united in marriage to John (Jack) Luce on December 17, 1957 in Marengo, Iowa. They lived in Marengo until moving to St. Ansgar. They were blessed with four children.
Bev worked at the Good Samaritan Center for 37 years until the time of her death.
Bev was united in marriage to Don Griga July 24, 1993. Bev enjoyed making salads for graduations, wedding, or different holidays. She also enjoyed making different foods for all of her fellow workers at the nursing home. Bev loved to cook big meals.
Bev had many collections, her favorite being Angels. Bev loved holidays and family gatherings. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Ruth Wolff, brother Gary Wolff, brother-in-law Raymond Power and her mother and father-in-law.
Bev is survived by her husband Don, children Jeffery (Pam) Luce of Hillsboro, Ohio, Darrell Luce of St. Ansgar, Jaclyn (Robert) Arnold of Rochester, Minnesota, Debbie Luce of St. Charles, Minnesota; grandchildren Merideth, Christina and Jeffery Luce, Ohio, Misty (Matt) Dugstad of Albert Lea, Minnesota; Brandon (Kristine) Luce of Emmons, Minnesota, Josh Anhorn and Cody Christensen of St. Charles, Minnesota; four great-grandchildren Dawson, Alexia, Kyla and Aidan. One sister Carol Power of St. Ansgar, and brother-in-law David (Sally) Griga of Minnesota, a sister-in-law Shirley (Doug) Stille of Akines, Minnesota, several nieces and nephews, aunt, cousins, many dear friends and her special dog Duchess.
