STACYVILLE, IOWA - Evangeline C. Landherr, age 90, of Stacyville, died on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at the Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The funeral service for Evangeline C. Landherr will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with Father John Moser officiating. Burial will take place at the Visitation Cemetery in Stacyville.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with the rosary at 4:30 p.m. followed by a scripture service at 7 p.m.

STACYVILLE, Iowa -- The funeral for Evangeline Landherr will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville, Iowa, with the Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial will follow in Visitation Catholic Cemetery.
Mrs. Landherr, 90, of Stacyville, died Saturday (April 4, 2009) at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
She was born Aug. 4, 1918, in Johnsburg, to Fred and Julia (Smith) Gerber. She grew up on a farm near Johnsburg, and on Oct. 14, 1944, married Wilmer Landherr in Johnsburg. They lived their entire marriage on a farm west of Stacyville.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, baking, and attending auctions with her husband in later years. For the last 5 1/2 years of her life, she resided with her son, Ron, in Marion, Iowa.
Survivors include five sons, James of Cedar Rapids, Ronald (Audrey) of Marion, Iowa, Thomas (Elaine) and Harold (Vicki), both of Stacyville, and John (Annette) of Marshalltown, Iowa; five daughters, Mary Jean (David) Johnson of Dewitt, Iowa, Janet (Dwight Sr.) Jorgensen of St. Ansgar, Kathryn (Wayne) Halvorson of Chatfield, Annette Hagen (special friend, Dennis Stauffacher) of Northwood, Iowa, and Ruth (James) Dieterich of Galesburg, Ill.; 32 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Armstrong of Fairfax, Va., Helen Noterman of Adams and Mary Brumm of Stacyville; two brothers, Adrian (Elaine) Gerber and Roger (Mary) Gerber, both of Adams; and sisters-in-law, Velma Matheis of Adams, Elizabeth Landherr of LeRoy, Louise Landherr of Austin and Nancy Landherr of Brownsdale.
She was preceded in death by her husband; three grandchildren, Michelle Johnson, Mark Jorgensen and Daniel Hagen; two sisters and four brothers who died in infancy; and a son-in-law, Bob Hagen.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Visitation Catholic Church, with a Rosary service at 4:30 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m.
